Pharmacodynamics

Triovit contains antioxidant vitamins C and E and β-carotene (provitamin A), oligoelement selenium.

The fat-soluble antioxidants, vitamin E (α-tocopherol) and provitamin A (β-carotene) protect membrane lipids from oxidation by free radicals formed in the cell and neutralize free radicals by blocking their unpaired electron.

Vitamin E acts as an anti-atherogenic agent, prevents oxidation of low density lipoproteins and reduces the risk of the formation of cholesterol plaques in the blood vessels.

The water-soluble ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is involved in the bioregeneration of α-tocopherol, protecting it from degradation.

The antioxidant enzyme glutathione peroxidase, which includes selenium neutralizes the most toxic products of free-radical oxidation – lipoperoxides, which prevents the formation of toxic aldehydes and new free radicals.

Free radicals have a negative effect on health when excessive amounts are produced in the body.

The body’s own defense systems can no longer maintain a balance of free radicals, resulting in cell damage.

Antioxidant vitamins are active at the cellular level, they complement each other’s activity, so the combination of vitamins (vit. A, E, C) and selenium is rational.

The protective properties of the vitamins – antioxidants are manifested in increasing the body’s resistance to adverse environmental factors, increasing the protective properties of the body, anti-inflammatory action, and contribute to slowing the aging process.
