Combined preparation of herbal origin.

The active components of chamomile, marshmallow and horsetail help to increase the activity of nonspecific defense factors by increasing the phagocytic activity of macrophages and granulocytes.

Polysaccharides, essential oils and flavonoids of chamomile, marshmallow and yarrow have anti-inflammatory effects and reduce mucosal edema of the respiratory tract. Tannins of oak bark have antiviral activity.

Pharmacokinetics

The action of Tonsilgon N is the combined effect of its components; therefore it is not possible to perform kinetic studies; all components together cannot be traced by markers or bioassays.

Indications

Acute and chronic diseases of the upper respiratory tract (tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis).

Prophylaxis of complications of respiratory viral infections and as an adjunct to antibiotic therapy for bacterial infections.

Althea roots 0.4 g,

Chamomile flowers 0.3 g,

Horsetail herb 0.5 g,

Walnut leaves 0.4 g,

Oak bark 0.2 g,

Dandelion herb 0.4 g.

Interaction

Combination with antibacterial drugs is possible and appropriate.

Interaction with other drugs has not been described.

Directions for use

The drug is taken orally. Drops for oral administration are taken undiluted, holding in the mouth for a while before swallowing.

In the acute period of the disease: adults – 25 drops 5-6 times a day, school-age children (over 6 years) – 15 drops 5-6 times a day, preschool children (over 1 year) – 10 drops 5-6 times a day.

When acute symptoms of the disease have disappeared (sore throat) the drug should be continued for 1 more week: adults – 25 drops 3 times a day, school-age children (over 6 years) – 15 drops 3 times a day, preschool children (over 1 year) – 10 drops 3 times a day.

The drug should be shaken before use.

Special Instructions

The content of ethyl alcohol in the drug is from 16% to 19.5% (by volume). In maximum single dose (25 drops) the content of absolute ethyl alcohol is 0.21 g; in maximum daily dose (25 drops 6 times a day) – 1.26 g.

If within 7 days of using the drug the symptoms of the disease persist or the condition of the patient worsens, it is necessary to see a doctor.

When storing the drug a slight turbidity of the liquid or precipitation is possible, which does not affect the effectiveness of the drug.

The bottle should be kept upright when used.

Influence on driving and operating ability

When using the drug, caution must be exercised while driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially hazardous activities requiring increased concentration and quick psychomotor reactions (due to the ethyl alcohol content of the drug).

Contraindications

With caution: liver diseases, brain injury, brain disease, children over 1 year of age (use only after consulting a physician) – because of the content of ethanol in the product.

Side effects

Gastrointestinal disorders: nausea, vomiting.

Possible allergic reactions.

In case of signs of an allergic reaction, discontinue the drug.

Overdose

To date, no cases of overdose have been reported.

Symptoms:Gastrointestinal side effects may worsen.
