The herb of thermopsis has an expectorant effect, having a moderate irritant effect on the mucosal receptors of the stomach, reflexively increases the secretion of bronchial glands.

The alkaloids contained in the herb of thermopsis (cytisine, methylcytisine, pachycardine, ana-hirin, thermopsidine) have a stimulating effect on respiratory and, in high doses, on the vomiting centers.

Sodium bicarbonate stimulates bronchial gland secretion and helps reduce sputum viscosity.

Indications

Cough with sputum difficult to remove (bronchitis, tracheitis) – in the complex therapy.

Composition

1 tablet contains:

Active substances:

Powder of the herb Thermopsis lanceolata 6.7 mg,

Sodium bicarbonate 250 mg;

Auxiliary substances:

Potato starch,

Talc.

How to take, the dosage

Thermopsol is taken orally, 1 tablet 3 times a day for 3-5 days.

Interaction

Adsorbents, astringents and coating agents may reduce absorption of the alkaloids contained in the herb Thermopsis.

Thermopsil should not be used concomitantly with drugs containing codeine and other anti-cough medications because this makes it difficult to separate sputum.

Special Instructions

A lot of warm drinking is recommended to improve the liquefaction and separation of sputum.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, children under 12 years of age, peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer.

Side effects

Allergic reactions are possible; in large doses – vomiting.
