Pharm Action:
Bacteriostatic antibiotic of the tetracycline group. Disrupts formation of the complex between transport RNA and ribosome, which leads to suppression of protein synthesis.
Active against Gram-positive microorganisms: Staphylococcus spp. (including Staphylococcus aureus, including penicillinase-producing strains), Streptococcus spp. (including Streptococcus pneumoniae), Listeria spp, Bacillus anthracis, Clostridium spp., Actinomyces israelii;
Gravity microorganisms: Haemophilus influenzae, Haemophilus ducreyi, Bordetella pertussis, most enterobacteria (Escherichia coli, Enterobacter spp, including Enterobacter aerogenes, Klebsiella spp., Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Yersinia pestis, Bartonella bacilliformis, Vibrio cholerae, Vibrio fetus, Rickettsia spp, Borrelia burgdorferi, Brucella spp. (in combination with streptomycin);
with contraindications to administration of penicillins – Clostridium spp., Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Actinomyces spp.; also active against pathogens Chlamydia trachomatis, Treponema spp.
The following microorganisms are resistant to tetracycline: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus spp., Serratia spp., most strains of Bacteroides spp. and fungi, viruses, group A beta-haemolytic streptococci (including 44% of Streptococcus pyogenes and 74% of Streptococcus faecalis strains).

Special instructions
It is not recommended for use on deep or puncture wounds, severe burns, or in ophthalmology (use 1% eye ointment).
It should be borne in mind that the use of antibacterial agents for external use can lead to sensitization of the body, accompanied by the development of hypersensitivity reactions.
If the condition does not improve within 2 weeks, you should consult your doctor.
There are no adequate and strictly controlled studies in children under 11 years of age; doses for this category of patients have not been determined.

Active ingredient:

Excipients:
lanolin (lanolin anhydrous),
ceresin,
sodium disulfite (sodium pyrosulfite),
petrolatum.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to tetracycline.
Children’s age (up to 11 years).
Side Effects
Allergic reactions: burning, skin flushing, swelling or other signs of irritation.
Interaction
Tetracycline hydrochloride forms poorly soluble complexes with calcium, iron and other metal ions, and therefore the drug should not be taken simultaneously with milk and dairy products (due to the calcium content in them);
with antacids containing aluminum, calcium, magnesium salts; as well as with iron supplements.
