The determination is based on the principle of immunochromatographic analysis, in which the test sample is absorbed by the absorbing sections of the strip; if marijuana (or its metabolites) is present in the sample, it reacts with specific monoclonal antibodies to marijuana bound to colloidal gold particles to form an antigen-antibody complex. This complex reacts competitively with the marijuana conjugate immobilized in the test zone of the Strip, forming pink colored lines in the test zone.

Specifications

The detection sensitivity (minimum detectable concentration) is 50 ng/ml of marijuana (or its metabolites).
The analysis time is 5 minutes.

The presence of other narcotic compounds (morphine, amphetamine, methamphetamine, phencyclidine, deoxyephedrine and phenobarbital) in the urine at a concentration of 10 µg/ml does not interfere with the determination of marijuana (or its metabolites).
However, some structurally related marijuana compounds (delta -9-tetrahydrocannabinol at more than 10 ng/ml, delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol at more than 10 ng/ml, and cannabinol at more than 10 ng/ml) will give a positive reaction during detection.
