How to take, the dosage
The liniment is used externally.
After surgical treatment of wounds and burns synthomycin liniment is applied directly to the wound surface, after which a sterile gauze dressing is applied or synthomycin liniment is applied to the dressing material and then to the wound.
Tabs with liniment loosely fill cavities of purulent wounds after surgical treatment, and gauze turundas with synthomycin liniment are inserted into fistulous passages.
In the treatment of wounds and burns in the 2nd phase – once every 1-3 days depending on the dynamics of wound healing.
Interaction
Barbiturates accelerate biotransformation, reduce concentration and duration of effect.
Decreases the antibacterial effect of penicillins and cephalosporins.
When concomitant use with erythromycin, clindamycin, lincomycin mutual weakening of action is noted.
Disulfiram-like reactions are possible with concomitant use of alcohol.
Special Instructions
Systematic monitoring of peripheral blood counts is necessary during treatment.
There have been no adverse effects on the fetus during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
When applied to large surfaces with concomitant administration of ethanol, disulfiram-like reactions (skin hyperemia, tachycardia, nausea, vomiting, reflex cough, convulsions) may occur.
