2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol is a derivative of benzene, an antiseptic. Amylmethacresol is a phenol derivative, an antiseptic. The mechanism of action of 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol and amylmethacresol is associated with coagulation of proteins of microbial and fungal cells as well as interaction with cell membrane lipids, which determines the effectiveness against pathogens. < br> < br> < br> The drug shows antiseptic action in infectious and inflammatory diseases, is active against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms in vitro, has antimycotic (antifungal) and antiviral action in vitro.< br> < br> The drug has a soothing effect on the oral mucosa and reduces irritation and pain in the throat, including during swallowing and speech.< br> < br> The drug reduces the intensity of sore throat in 5 minutes after the start of resorption. The analgesic effect lasts up to 2 hours. < br> < br> A pronounced analgesic effect compared to placebo is observed when using the drug for 3 days.
Indications
Symptomatic treatment of sore throat in infectious and inflammatory diseases.
Pharmacological effect
2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol is a benzene derivative and an antiseptic. Amylmetacresol is a phenol derivative, an antiseptic. The mechanism of action of 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol and amylmetacresol is associated with the coagulation of proteins of microbial and fungal cells, as well as with interaction with the lipids of cell membranes, which determines the effectiveness against pathogens.
The drug has an antiseptic effect in infectious and inflammatory diseases, is active against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms in vitro, has an antimycotic (antifungal) effect and antiviral effect in vitro.
The drug has a softening effect on the oral mucosa and reduces irritation and pain in the throat, including when swallowing and speaking.
The drug reduces the intensity of sore throat 5 minutes after the start of resorption. The analgesic effect lasts up to 2 hours.
A pronounced analgesic effect compared to placebo is observed with a course of use of the drug for 3 days.
Special instructions
It is recommended to take the drug for the shortest possible course and in the minimum effective dose necessary to eliminate symptoms.

Pregnancy
The use of the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding is possible only on the recommendation of a doctor in the case of

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Children’s age up to 6 years.
Sucrase/isomaltase deficiency, fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption.

Side Effects
The following adverse reactions were observed with short-term use of the drug in recommended doses. When treating chronic conditions and with long-term use, other adverse reactions may occur.

Interaction
No clinically significant interactions with other drugs have been identified. Concomitant use of the drug with other local antimicrobial agents is possible.
Overdose
It is unlikely that a possible overdose can lead to discomfort from the gastrointestinal tract: nausea.
Treatment: symptomatic under medical supervision.
