Pharmacodynamics:

Antiseptic agent. It has bacteriostatic activity. It is effective with candidiasis. Removes fungus mycelium from mucous membranes and breaks the process of fungus attachment to mucous membranes and inhibits its reproduction (it is not an antifungal drug as it has no fungicidal or fungistatic action).

Pharmacokinetics:

Systemic absorption by local and external application is low; absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract when partially swallowed (by lubrication of the oral mucosa of the throat) can be absorbed through the damaged skin. It is deposited in the bone tissue of the liver. It is excreted by the kidneys unchanged and through the intestine within one week.

Indications

Candidiasis lesions of the mucous membranes of the oral cavity, pharynx and genitals; decubitus.

Composition

How to take, the dosage

Topically and externally.

Patient age range: adults.

Outwardly – to lubricate the skin 2-3 times a day.

Topically – to lubricate the oral mucosa. Lubricate the affected areas of the oral mucosa 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment is 3-7 days.

When treating vaginal candidiasis (thrush) before using the drug it is necessary to perform irrigation with boiled water or chamomile solution and then a tampon dipped in the drug is inserted into the vagina for 20-30 minutes. Frequency of use and course of treatment depend on the severity of the disease. With minor discharge and itching the drug is used once a day, preferably at night and with profuse discharge the drug is used twice a day (morning and evening) for 5-7 days.

If after treatment there is no improvement or new symptoms develop, it is necessary to consult a doctor.

Special Instructions

The condition for efficacy in vaginal candidiasis monotherapy is that the medical staff must administer the treatment multiple times; otherwise, the fungus cells may linger in the vaginal crypts and lead to recurrence.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug pregnancy lactation period childhood.

The integrity of the mucous membranes and skin is damaged.

Side effects

Allergic reactions; hyperemia and burning sensation at the site of application.

Overdose

Symptoms in case of accidental ingestion (fatal dose for adults – 10-20 g toxic concentration in blood – 40 mg/l fatal – 50 mg/l): abdominal pain vomiting decreased appetite dehydration weakness confusion dermatitis menstrual disorders anemia muscle twitching face and limbs allopecia heart disorders liver and kidney function.

Treatment: gastric lavage forced diuresis in severe poisoning – hemodialysis in/m – riboflavin mononucleotide 10 mg/day correction of water-electrolyte balance and acidosis: intravenous infusion of sodium hydrocarbonate solution plasma exchange solutions of sodium chloride solution and dextrose. In case of abdominal pain – p/k 1 ml 01% atropine solution 1 ml 02% platyphylline solution 1 ml 1% promedol solution v/v – dextrose-procaine mixture (50 ml 2% procaine solution and 500 ml 5% dextrose solution). Maintenance of cardiovascular system functions.

There are no reports of overdose symptoms with local and external use of the drug.
