Pharmacodynamics

Glucocorticosteroid (GCS) for external use; inhibits the release of inflammatory mediators. When applied to the skin it prevents marginal accumulation of neutrophils, which leads to a decrease in inflammatory exudate and cytokine production, inhibition of macrophage migration, reduction of infiltration and granulation processes. It has anti-inflammatory and antiallergic effect.

Pharmacokinetics

After absorption from the skin surface is bound with plasma proteins and metabolized in the liver with the formation of inactive metabolites. It is excreted mainly by the kidneys.

How to take, the dosage

Externally. A small amount of the drug is applied 2-4 times a day to the skin, wiped with a tampon moistened with an antiseptic liquid and lightly rubbed. If necessary an occlusive dressing may be applied, leaving it on the affected surface for up to 3-4 days. It is not allowed to apply under the dressing more than 2 g / day.

The ointment is preferably used for dry forms of dermatosis.

Interaction

Compatible with antimicrobial agents.

Limits activity of hypotensive, diuretic, antiarrhythmic drugs, potassium preparations. Diuretics (except potassium-saving drugs) increase the risk of hypokalemia.

Special Instructions

Perform only short courses on small areas of the skin.

The drug should not be applied to the face. Avoid getting the drug in the eyes. The duration of prescription in children should not exceed 5 days. It is recommended to wear loose clothing during treatment.

In patients with common or pink acne, exacerbation of the disease may occur during treatment.

In order to prevent local infectious complications, it is recommended to prescribe in combination with antimicrobial agents.

Contraindications

Side effects

Burning, skin itching, steroidal acne, stretch marks, dry skin, folliculitis.

With long-term use – skin atrophy, local hirsutism, hypertrichosis, telangiectasia, purpura, pigmentation disorders of the skin, alopecia, especially in women, secondary immunodeficiency (exacerbation of chronic infectious diseases, generalization of the infection process, development of opportunistic infections), when applied to large surfaces systemic manifestations are possible (gastritis, “steroid” peptic ulcer, adrenal insufficiency, Icenko-Cushing’s syndrome, “steroid” diabetes, slowed reparative processes).

Overdose

Symptoms: itching and burning of the skin at the site of application of the drug, hyperglycemia, glucosuria, Icenko-Cushing’s syndrome

Treatment: symptomatic with gradual withdrawal of the drug.
