Sub simplex, by reducing the surface tension at the interface, impedes the formation and promotes the destruction of gas bubbles in the intestinal contents. The gases released during this process can be absorbed by the intestinal walls or expelled through peristalsis. In sono- and radiography it prevents interference and overlapping of images; it promotes better irrigation of mucous coat of large intestine with contrast agent, preventing rupture of contrast film.

The simethicone changes the surface tension of gas bubbles that form in the stomach contents and intestinal mucus and causes their destruction. The released gases are absorbed by the intestinal wall or removed during intestinal peristalsis. Simethicone removes the foam physically and does not react chemically.

Pharmacokinetics

Due to physical and chemical inertness, it is not absorbed in the body, after passing through the gastrointestinal tract is eliminated unchanged.

How to take, the dosage

Extended gassiness

Newborns and infants (up to 1 year of age) who are fed from a baby bottle: 15 drops (0.6 ml) of the suspension are added to each bottle.

Sub Simplex mixes well with other liquids, such as milk.

Children from one to six years of age: 15 drops (0.6 ml) with or after meals. If necessary, an additional 15 drops at night.
Children from 6 to 15 years: 20-30 drops (0.8-1.2 ml).

Adults: 30-45 drops (1.2-1.8 ml).

This dose should be taken every 4 to 6 hours; it can be increased if necessary.

Sub Simplex is best taken during or after meals and, if necessary, before bedtime.

Sub Simplex can be given to newborns before feeding from a teaspoonful.

Shake the bottle vigorously before use. The bottle should be turned upside down and the bottom should be tapped so that the suspension starts to flow from the dropper. The duration of use depends on the dynamics of complaints. Sab® Simplex can be taken for a long time, if necessary.

Preparing for gastrointestinal diagnostic studies

Application in preparation for gastrointestinal diagnostic studies is facilitated by removing the pipette from the vial.
Radiological examination: to prepare for radiography 3-6 teaspoons (15-30 ml) of Sab® Simplex should be taken the evening before the examination.

In an ultrasound examination: in preparation for an ultrasound examination, we recommend taking 3 teaspoons (15 ml) of Sab Simplex the evening before the examination and 3 teaspoons 3 hours before the examination.

Endoscopy: 1/2 to 1 teaspoon (2.5 to 5 ml) of Sab® Simplex should be taken before endoscopy. A few milliliters of Sab Simplex suspension may be administered additionally during the examination through the endoscope.

Detergent poisoning

The dose depends on the severity of the poisoning. The recommended minimum dose of Sab® Simplex is 1 teaspoon (5 ml).
If existing complaints persist and/or reappear, a physician should be consulted.

Special Instructions

The drug Sab Simplex can be used also in diabetic patients, because it does not contain carbohydrates.
New and/or recurrent complaints associated with increased gas must be clinically confirmed.

Impact on the ability to drive and operate machinery

It does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.
