Rovatinex is nephrolitholytic, antispasmodic, diuretic.
Pharmacodynamics
Rovatinex promotes the disintegration and excretion of renal stones and stones of the urinary tract.
The terpenes, such as borneol, undergo metabolic changes and are excreted in the urine – mainly in the form of glucuronides, which increases the solubility of calcium salts (major components of kidney and urinary tract stones). In a number of experiments on animals the inhibitory effect of Rovatinex on the formation of kidney stones and urinary tract stones has been established.
Rovatinex has an antispasmodic effect, promotes the passage of stones through the urinary tract, reduces pain of renal and ureteric colic, increases renal blood flow, improving their function and increasing diuresis.
It has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial action (against a number of Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms), increases the content of protective colloids and glucuronic acid in urine.
Pharmacokinetics
The terpenes present in Rovatinex are fat-soluble and rapidly absorbed.
The terpenes, such as borneol, undergo metabolic changes in the human body, becoming glucuronides, which are excreted in the urine.
Indications
Urinary stone disease (nephrolithiasis, urolithiasis); prevention of kidney and urinary tract stones formation.
