Yohimbine is a selective blocker of presynaptic alpha-adrenoreceptors, in high doses it blocks postsynaptic alpha-adrenoreceptors. It is a pure alkaloid from the bark of the West African Corynanthe yohimbe. It improves the blood supply to the pelvic organs.

In erectile dysfunction, it activates CNS adrenergic neurons (thereby increasing central noradrenaline metabolism), improves motor activity and reactivity. It increases sexual desire and normalizes stress-induced weakening of the ability to coitus.

It has an antidiuretic effect.

The effects of Iohimbine only appear after a certain period of time. Therefore, regular taking of the pills is recommended.

Treatment of psychogenic and functional forms of impotence.

How to take, the dosage

Prescribe 5-10 mg 1-3 times a day for 3-10 weeks.

Tablets are taken with meals, without chewing and with a glass of water.

The duration of use is determined by the doctor.

The treatment can be repeated if necessary.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug, hepatic and/or renal insufficiency, arterial hypertension or hypotension, coronary heart disease, simultaneous use of adrenostimulants.

With caution – gastric and duodenal ulcer, mental illness.

Side effects

CNS disorders: in some cases – increased agitation, hand tremors, headache, dizziness.

Digestive system disorders: in some cases – abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea.

Cardiovascular system: in single cases – orthostatic hypotension, tachycardia.

Other: priapism.
