Pharmacological (immunobiological) properties

Interleukin-2 is produced by a subset of T lymphocytes (T helper I cells) in response to antigenic stimulation. Synthesized IL-2 affects T lymphocytes, enhancing their proliferation and subsequent synthesis of IL-2.

The biological effects of IL-2 are mediated by its binding to specific receptors present on various cellular targets.

IL-2 specifically affects the growth, differentiation and activation of T- and B-lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, oligodendroglial cells, and Langerhans cells. The development of cytolytic activity of natural killer cells and cytotoxic
depends on its presence.
T-lymphocytes. IL-2 induces the formation of lymphokine-activated killer cells and activates tumor-infiltrating cells.

The expansion of the spectrum of the lysing action of effector cells determines the elimination of various pathogenic microorganisms, infected and malignant cells, which provides immune protection directed against tumor cells, as well as pathogens of viral, bacterial and fungal infections.

Special instructions

When stored at temperatures from 2 to 8°C, sodium lauryl sulfate crystals may form, which should dissolve at room temperature within 30 minutes.

Composition

Active substances:

human interleukin-2 recombinant 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg or 1 mg (=250,000 IU / 500,000 IU / 1,000,000 IU);

excipients:

sodium lauryl sulfate – 2.5 mg / 5 mg / 10 mg;

mannitol – 12.5 mg / 25 mg / 50 mg;

dithiothreitol – 0.08 mg;

ammonium bicarbonate – 0.79 mg;

water for injection – up to 1 ml.

Contraindications

History of hypersensitivity to interleukin-2 or any component of the drug; allergy to yeast; pregnancy; autoimmune diseases, heart failure stage III, pulmonary heart failure stage III, metastatic brain damage, end-stage renal cell cancer.

With caution in chronic renal failure, decompensated liver failure.

Side Effects

In some cases, during the administration of Roncoleukin®, short-term chills and an increase in body temperature may occur, which can be controlled by conventional therapeutic agents and is not a reason to interrupt the administration of the drug, as well as the course of treatment.

Interaction

Treatment with Roncoleukin® can be combined with treatment with all other medications.

Overdose

Manifestations of overdose were observed with a single dose of Roncoleukin® above 7 mg in the form of fever, heart rhythm disturbances, hypotension, and dermatological allergic reactions.

Store at a temperature of 2°C to 8°C out of the reach of children.
