RINSULIN NPH is a preparation of genetically engineered human insulin. It lowers blood glucose levels, increases its uptake by tissues, increases lipogenesis, glycogenogenesis, protein synthesis, reduces the rate of glucose production by liver.

Pharmacological effect

RINSULIN NPH is a drug of genetically engineered human insulin. Reduces blood glucose levels, enhances its uptake by tissues, increases lipogenesis, glycogenogenesis, protein synthesis, and reduces the rate of glucose production by the liver.

Special instructions

It is advisable to hospitalize patients receiving more than 100 units of RINSULIN NPH per day when changing the drug. The transition from one type of insulin to another should be carried out under the control of blood glucose levels. In connection with the primary prescription of insulin, a change in its type, or in the presence of significant physical or mental stress, there may be a decrease in the ability to drive a car or operate various mechanisms, as well as engage in other potentially hazardous activities that require increased attention and speed of mental and motor reactions.

Contraindications

Hypoglycemia, hypersensitivity to human insulin preparations.

Side Effects

Caused by the effect on carbohydrate metabolism: hypoglycemic conditions (pallor of the skin, increased sweating, palpitations, tremor).

Interaction

The hypoglycemic effect of Rinsulin NIH is enhanced by MAO inhibitors, non-selective beta-blockers, sulfonamides, anabolic steroids, tetracyclines, clofibrate, cyclophosphamide, fenfluramine, and drugs containing ethanol.

Overdose

In case of an overdose of the drug, a hypoglycemic state may develop.

Storage conditions

In a dark place at a temperature from +2°C to 4-8°C. Avoid freezing.
