Paracetamol has antipyretic and analgesic effect: reduces the pain syndrome observed during “colds” – sore throat, headache, muscle and joint pain, reduces fever.
Phenylephrine has a vasoconstrictor effect – reduces edema and hyperemia of the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract and sinuses.
Pheniramine has antiallergic effect: itching of the eyes, nose and throat, edema and hyperemia of the mucous membranes of the nasal cavity, nasopharynx and accessory sinuses, reduces exudative symptoms.
Caffeine has a stimulating effect on the central nervous system, resulting in decreased fatigue and sleepiness and increased mental and physical performance.

Interaction
It enhances the effects of MAO inhibitors, sedatives, ethanol. Antidepressants, antiparkinsonian drugs, antipsychotics, phenothiazine derivatives – increase the risk of urinary retention, dry mouth, constipation. Glucocorticosteroids increase the risk of glaucoma.
Paracetamol reduces the effectiveness of uricosuric drugs. Chlorpheniramine concomitantly with MAO inhibitors, furazolidone may lead to hypertensive crisis, agitation, hyperpyrexia. Simultaneous administration of halothane increases the risk of ventricular arrhythmia. Phenylephrine reduces the hypotensive effect of guanethidine. Guanethidine increases the alpha-adrenergic stimulating effect, and tricyclic antidepressants increase the sympathomimetic effect of phenylephrine.
Concomitant administration of the drug with barbiturates, diphenine, carbamazepine, rifampicin and other inducers of microsomal liver enzymes increases the risk of hepatotoxic effects of paracetamol.
Directions for use
Pour the contents of 1 sachet (sachet) in a glass, pour hot water, stir until completely dissolved and drink (if desired, you can add sugar or honey). Take the drug with plenty of fluid, 1 – 2 hours after a meal. Adults and children over 15 years: Take one sachet 3-4 times a day with intervals between doses of 4-6 hours. The maximum daily dose is 4 sachets.
The drug is not recommended for more than five days as an analgesic and more than three days as an antipyretic without a doctor’s prescription and supervision.
An increase in the daily dose of the drug or the duration of treatment should only be under a physician’s supervision. Do not exceed the indicated dose. In case of an overdose, seek medical attention immediately, even if you feel well.
Special Instructions
Before taking the drug, it is necessary to consult a physician in case of: taking metoclopramide, domperidone, colestiramine, anticoagulants (warfarin).
During treatment, refrain from taking alcohol, sleeping pills and anxiolytics (tranquilizers) medicines. Do not take together with other drugs containing paracetamol. Caution should be exercised when performing work requiring concentration, increased speed of motor and mental reactions. If the symptoms do not disappear within 3-5 days, consult a physician.
To avoid toxic liver damage, PACETAMOL should NOT be taken with alcoholic beverages, and should also not be taken by persons inclined to chronic alcohol use.

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to paracetamol and other constituents of the drug; intake of other drugs containing the substances included in the drug; simultaneous use of tricyclic antidepressants, beta-adrenoblockers, MAO inhibitors, including within 14 days after withdrawal; pregnancy, lactation; children (under 15 years).

With caution – pronounced atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries, arterial hypertension, thyrotoxicosis, pheochromocytoma, diabetes mellitus and hereditary sugar absorption disorders, bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, congenital hyperbilirubinemia (Gilbert, Dubin-Johnson and Rotor syndromes), hepatic and/or renal insufficiency, closed-angle glaucoma, prostatic hyperplasia.
Side effects
Nervous system disorders: dizziness, insomnia, increased excitability.
Cardiovascular system disorders: increased blood pressure, tachycardia.
Digestive system disorders: nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, dry mouth, hepatotoxic effect.
Sensory system disorders: mydriasis, accommodation paresis, increased intraocular pressure.
Hematopoietic disorders: thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis.
Others: bronchospasm, urinary retention.
Overdose
It is usually caused by paracetamol and occurs after taking more than 10 – 15 g of paracetamol.
Symptoms: pale skin, anorexia, nausea, vomiting; increased activity of “liver” transaminases, increased prothrombin time. In case of overdose it is necessary to consult a physician urgently.
Treatment: gastric lavage followed by administration of activated charcoal; symptomatic therapy, administration of methionine 8-9 hours after overdose and N-acetylcysteine 12 hours after.
