Interaction
Changes in gastric acidity during the use of antacids may lead to a decrease in the rate and degree of absorption of other drugs when taken simultaneously, so the drugs should be taken 1-2 hours before or after taking antacid drugs.
Tetracycline antibiotics, fluoroquinolones, cardiac glycosides, levothyroxine, iron drugs, fluorides, phosphates – when used simultaneously antacids reduce absorption of these drugs.
Thiazide diuretics – while concomitant use with antacids the calcium concentration in serum should be monitored regularly. Anticholinergic drugs increase and prolong the effect by delaying gastric emptying.
