Pharmacodynamics
It neutralizes free hydrochloric acid in the stomach, which leads to a decrease in the digestive activity of gastric juice. Does not cause secondary hypersecretion of gastric juice.
It has an adsorptive and enveloping effect, reduces the effect of damaging factors on the gastric mucosa. It accelerates healing of gastric and duodenal ulcers.
Limits gas in the intestines.
Indications
Composition
5 ml of the suspension contains:
Active substances:
– aluminum hydroxide gel 6 g;
– magnesium hydroxide 80 mg;
– simethicone 100 mg;
– licorice root powder 400 mg.
Auxiliary substances:
guar gum;
sorbitol;
sodium benzoate;
sodium citrate;
methylparaben;
propylparaben;
Sodium saccharinate;
sodium hypochlorite;
sodium hydroxide;
Peppermint oil;
Banana fragrance;
Bronopol;
Purified water.
How to take, the dosage
Relzer is taken orally, 1 h after a meal and in the evening before going to bed or in case of discomfort, epigastric pain, heartburn.
The suspension should be homogenized by shaking the bottle before intake.
Adults and children over 15 years of age – 1-2 tsp. 3-4 times a day.
The maximum daily dose is 8 teaspoonfuls. Children from 10 to 15 years of age are prescribed half of the recommended dose for adults. The duration of treatment without medical supervision should not exceed 14 days.
Interaction
May adsorb some drugs, thus reducing their absorption.
It reduces and slows down absorption of digoxin, indomethacin, salicylates, chlorpromazine, phenytoin, H2-histaminoblockers, beta-adrenoblockers, diflunisal, isoniazid, tetracycline antibiotics, quinolones (ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin, ofloxacin, enoxacin, grepafloxacin, etc.) and azithromycin.), azithromycin, cefpodoxime, pivampicillin, rifampicin, indirect anticoagulants, barbiturates, fexofenadine, dipyridamole, zalcitabine, bile acids – chenodeoxycholic and ursodeoxycholic, penicillamine, iron and lithium drugs, quinidine, lansoprazole, mexiletine, ketoconazole.
When concomitantly taken with drugs in enteric dosage forms, increased alkalinity of gastric juices may lead to accelerated disruption of the lining and irritation of the stomach and duodenum.
m-Cholinoblockers, by slowing gastric emptying, enhance and prolong the action of the drug.
Special Instructions
The interval between taking Relzer and other drugs should be 1-2 hours.
Long-term use (more than 14 days) requires regular medical monitoring.
The drug contains sorbitol, which is contraindicated if fructose intolerance is congenital.
Contraindications
Side effects
In constipation, nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, changes in taste sensation, hypermagnesemia, hypophosphatemia, hypocalcemia, hypercalciuria, osteomalacia, osteoporosis, hyperaluminemia, encephalopathy, nephrocalcinosis, renal dysfunction, allergic reactions.
In patients with concomitant renal failure – thirst, decreased BP, hyporeflexia.
Overdose
Symptoms:In prolonged use of high doses, kidney stone formation, constipation, drowsiness, hypermagnesemia may occur.
The signs of metabolic alkalosis may also be observed: mood changes, numbness or muscle pain, nervousness and rapid fatigue, unpleasant taste sensations.
Treatment:Any steps should be taken to quickly eliminate the drug: flush the stomach, induce vomiting, take activated charcoal.
Pregnancy use
It is contraindicated in pregnancy.
Breastfeeding should be stopped during treatment.
