Reafferon EU is an antiviral and immunomodulatory drug, which is human recombinant interferon alpha-2b encapsulated in liposomes and lyophilically dried.

Indications

As part of complex therapy:

Prevention and treatment of influenza and acute respiratory infections in adults and children.

Active ingredient

Composition

1 ampoule contains:

Active substance:

interferon alpha-2a 3 million IU.

How to take, the dosage

I/m (in or under the lesion), subconjunctival, local.

Acute hepatitis B – 1 million IU in a month 2 times a day for 5-6 days (course – 15 million IU); chronic active hepatitis B – 1 million IU in a month 2 times a week for 1-2 months; chronic active hepatitis B and D (with signs of liver cirrhosis) – 250-500 thousand IU daily in a month 2 times a week for 1 month MU in a daily dose 2 times a week for 1 month; hair cell leukemia – 3-6 million IU daily during 2 months (course – 420-600 million IU); kidney cancer – 3 million IU daily during 10 days (course – 120-300 million IU); stromal keratitis and keratojidocyclitis – subconjunctival injection of 60,000 IU in 0.5 ml daily (course – 15-25 injections).

Interaction

Combination with drugs depressing CNS, immunosuppressive drugs (including GCS for systemic use) should be avoided. Alcohol consumption is not recommended during the use of the drug.

Special Instructions

Like all interferons, the drug may cause antibodies to interferon in some individuals with prolonged use, which leads to a decrease in therapeutic effect.

The use of the drug in case of viral hepatitis B at a later time is less effective. It is not effective in developing hepatic coma and cholestatic course of the disease.

In patients with erythrodermic stage of mycosis with fever over 39 degrees C and in case of aggravation of the process the administration of Referon-EC should be stopped.

In persons with a high pyrogenic reaction (39 degrees C or higher) to administration of Referon-ES, concomitant use of indomethacin is recommended.

If the solution for topical use is stored, observing the rules of asepsis and antiseptics, transfer the contents of the ampoule into a sterile vial and keep the solution in refrigerator at 4-10 degrees C for not more than 12 hours.

In case of leuko- and thrombocytopenia development blood tests should be performed 2-3 times a week.

In case of severe local and general adverse reactions the administration of Referon-ES should be stopped.

Contraindications

Severe allergic diseases; pregnancy.

Side effects

Fever, chills, leuko- and thrombocytopenia, skin allergic reactions.

Pregnancy use

Reafferon-EC is contraindicated in pregnancy, lactation and children under 2 years of age.
