Pyroxicam-Vertex, gel 1% 30 g

Pharmacotherapeutic group:

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.

Pharmacological properties:

Pyroxicam has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.

Suppresses the production of inflammatory mediators, by inhibiting cycloxygenases 1 and 2.

Allows pain syndrome, including joint pain at rest and on movement; reduces morning stiffness and joint swelling, helps increase range of motion.

Pyroxicam 0.5 g or 1 g.

Excipients

Propylene glycol,

Physyl alcohol 95% (ethanol),

carbomer 940 (carboxyvinyl polymer),

triethanolamine (trolamine),

methyl parahydroxybenzoate (nipagin),

purified water.

How to take, the dosage

The gel is applied to the skin by squeezing a 3 cm long strip onto the skin area in the area of pain, depending on the size of the lesion.

Distribute in a thin layer and gently rub into the inflamed and painful area of the body.

The gel is applied 3-4 times a day.

Interaction

Clinically significant interactions with other medicinal products have not been described.

Special Instructions

The gel should be applied only to intact skin, avoiding contact with open wounds.

After application, do not apply an occlusive dressing.

The product should not come into contact with eyes and mucous membranes.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to pyroxicam, acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs, “aspirin” asthma, pregnancy, lactation, childhood (under 12 years), violation of the integrity of the skin.

With caution: hepatic porphyria (exacerbation), erosive-ulcerous lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, severe liver and renal function disorders, chronic heart failure, bronchial asthma, advanced age, childhood.

Side effects

Local reactions: eczema, contact dermatitis (itching, redness, swelling of the treated skin area, papules, vesicles, peeling).

Systemic reactions: generalized skin rash, allergic reactions (urticaria, angioedema, bronchospastic reactions).

Overdose

The extremely low systemic absorption of the active ingredients of the drug when applied topically makes overdose almost impossible.
