Pharmacological properties

The drug has antiandrogenic, anti-inflammatory and anti-edema effects that are selectively directed to the prostate gland.
Anti-androgenic activity of the drug is caused by inhibition of 5-alpha-reductase enzyme. Testosterone supplied to the prostate gland is converted by this enzyme into its active form – dihydrotestosterone. Prostaplant prevents formation of di-hydrotestosterone-receptor complex, its penetration into cell nucleus and subsequent induction of protein synthesis. As a result, the process of proliferative changes in prostate tissues is inhibited. Prostaplant has no effect on the levels of testosterone, follicle stimulating and luteinizing hormones in blood plasma of men.

Anti-inflammatory and anti-edema effects of the drug are connected with inhibition of cyclooxygenase and 5-lipooxygenase enzyme.

Prostaplant decreases capillary permeability and vascular stasis, reduces edema and inflammation of the prostate, thus eliminating compression of the bladder neck and urethra and improves urodynamics of the urinary tract.

The indicated properties of the preparation reduce specific symptoms of prostatic hyperplasia, such as dysuria, pollacuria, nycturia,
reduced volume and force of urination, incomplete emptying of the bladder, pain and feeling of tension in the perineum in stages I – II of the disease. Prostaplant does not reduce potency in men and has no effect on plasma level of prostatic specific antigen (PSA).

Urinary disorders in benign prostatic hyperplasia (adenoma) stage I and II.

Serenoa creeper / palm sabal fruit extract (10 – 14.3:1) – 320 mg, extractant : ethanol 90%.

Auxiliary substances:

gelatin polysuccinate 127.048 mg; glycerol 61.522 mg; iron oxide black dye E 172 2.417 mg; iron oxide yellow dye E 172 2.210 mg; patent blue dye V E131 0.081 mg.

How to take, the dosage

Take orally 1 capsule a day, without chewing, with a small amount of liquid. The course of treatment should be at least 3 months.

The optimal regimen and repeated courses of treatment are determined and prescribed by the doctor individually in each case based on the diagnostic examination.

Impact of the drug on the ability to drive vehicles, machinery

The use of the drug does not affect the performance of potentially hazardous activities requiring increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions (driving vehicles, operating moving mechanisms).
