The drug modifies the functional activity of S-100 protein that conjugates informational and metabolic processes in the brain. It sensitizes neuronal membrane and modulates synaptic plasticity of neurons. Has a modifying effect on the functional state of brain structures involved in the formation of alcohol dependence: hypothalamus, hippocampus, etc.

In case of alcohol dependence has a normalizing effect on the system of positive emotional reinforcement, which leads to a decrease in the frequency of self-stimulation of the lateral hypothalamus. Reduces patches activity of hippocampal neurons; decreases the number of circulating immunocomplexes in peripheral blood, which correlates with decreased ethanol consumption. It promotes strengthening of the inhibitory effects of GABA in the CNS.

It is experimentally established that the drug restores the neurotransmitter balance and conditioned reflex activity. Increases resistance of the brain to hypoxia and toxic effects.

Indications

Alcoholism, Hangover

Proproten-100 is indicated for use in adults.

It is used in alcohol dependence to reduce the craving for alcohol and reduce the likelihood of relapse into alcoholism.

Composition

Active ingredient:

Antibodies to brain-specific protein S-100 affinity purified – 0.003 g*.

Excipients:

Lactose monohydrate 0,267 g,

Microcrystalline cellulose 0,03 g,

Magnesium stearate 0,003 g.

* applied to lactose monohydrate in the form of an aqueous-alcoholic mixture containing not more than 10 -1991 ng/g of the active form of the active substance.

How to take, the dosage

The drug is not intended to divide the tablet into parts.

At one reception – 1 tablet is kept in the mouth until dissolved (not during meals).

For the prevention of relapse of alcoholism the drug is taken on 2 tablets (1 tablet 2 times a day) for 6 months; after the accidental use of alcohol take an additional 2 tablets of the drug 2 times – in the afternoon and at night.

Interaction

Cases of incompatibility with other drugs have not yet been identified.

Special Instructions

The drug contains lactose monohydrate, and therefore it is not recommended to prescribe it to patients with congenital galactosemia, glucose malabsorption syndrome, or with congenital lactase deficiency.

Influence on the ability to drive vehicles, mechanisms

During the treatment of alcohol dependence, taking into account the specifics of the disease, one should refrain from driving motor transport.

Contraindications

Increased individual sensitivity to the drug components, pregnancy and lactation.

Age under 18 years.

Side effects

Individual hypersensitivity reactions to the drug components are possible.

Overdose

To date, no cases of overdose have been observed.

Pregnancy use

Proproten-100 is contraindicated in women during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
