Pharmacodynamics

It has bacteriostatic action. It has a local, antimicrobial action.

It is active against a number of Gram-positive microorganisms (Streptococcus haemolyticus, Streptococcus viridans, Pneumococcus). There is no effect on the intestinal microflora.

Pharmacokinetics

The optimal therapeutic concentration in saliva is reached on the 3rd-4th day of taking the drug at the dose of 0,03-0,05 g/day.

Indications

Symptomatic treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the mouth and throat: tonsillitis, gingivitis, stomatitis, pharyngitis.

How to take, the dosage

Topically. The tablets should be swallowed until complete dissolution (15 – 30 minutes after a meal).

After using the tablets you should refrain from drinking and eating for 3 hours.

Adults: 4-5 tablets (0,04-0,05 g) a day.

Children: from 3 to 7 years old – 3 tablets (0,03 g) a day.

The course of treatment is 3 – 4 days.

Impact on driving and operating machinery

The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery as well as to engage in other potentially hazardous activities requiring increased concentration and rapid psychomotor reactions.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to ambazone and other ingredients of the drug; lactose intolerance, fructose intolerance, sugar/isomaltase deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption, lactase deficiency; children under 3 years of age.

Allergic reactions to components of the drug, skin rash.
