Pharmacological properties:
The drug has soothing and antispasmodic effects. Extract of rhizomes with roots of valerian has a calming effect. Melissa leaf extract has a calming and antispasmodic effect. Peppermint leaf extract – antispasmodic, moderate sedative effect.
Indications
Excessive nervous excitability, insomnia, irritability.

How to take, the dosage
Ingestion with water, regardless of meals.
Adults and children over 12 years of age: in case of increased nervous excitability, irritability – 2-3 coated tablets 2-3 times a day;
In case of insomnia – 2-3 coated tablets 30 minutes to 1 hour before going to bed.
The maximum daily dose is 12 tablets a day. There is no withdrawal syndrome when discontinuing treatment. The drug should not be used continuously for more than 1.5-2 months.
Interaction
The drug increases the effect of sleeping pills and other drugs that depress the central nervous system, hypotensive drugs (in particular, of central action), analgesics, which requires adjustment of doses.
Special Instructions
In patients with GERD, symptoms may worsen. If symptoms persist or worsen while using the drug, consult a physician. The drug should not be used continuously for more than 1.5-2 months.
Impact on ability to drive, operate machinery
When using the drug, caution should be exercised while performing potentially hazardous activities requiring increased concentration and quick psychomotor reactions (driving vehicles, operating moving machinery, operator’s work).
Contraindications
– Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
– lactase deficiency, lactose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption;
– sugar/isomaltase deficiency, fructose intolerance;
p> – arterial hypotension;
– cholangitis, cholelithiasis and other diseases of the biliary tract;
– pregnancy;
– period of breastfeeding;
– children under 12 years of age.
With caution
In patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
Side effects
Allergic reactions (hyperemia, skin rash, peripheral edema, allergic dermatitis), bronchospasm, with prolonged use – constipation.
Overdose
A single ingestion of 20 g of valerian rhizomes with roots (approximately 103 tablets of Persen®) may cause a feeling of fatigue, stomach cramps, chest tightness, dizziness, hand tremors, dilated pupils, which may disappear on their own within 24 hours.
In case of overdose, it is advisable to gastric lavage and seek medical attention.
