Pancreatin Forte is a digestive enzyme, compensates for the lack of secretory function of the pancreas and biliary function of the liver, improves digestion, has proteolytic, amylolytic and lipolytic action.
Included pancreatic enzymes (lipase, alpha-amylase, trypsin, chymotrypsin) help in the breakdown of proteins into amino acids, fats into glycerol and fatty acids, starch into dextrins and monosaccharides.
Trypsin suppresses stimulated pancreatic secretion with an analgesic effect.
The enzyme hemicellulase promotes the breakdown of plant fiber, which also improves digestion and reduces the formation of gas in the intestines. Bile extract has a choleretic effect, helps emulsify fats, improves absorption of fats and fat-soluble vitamins and increases lipase activity.
Pharmacokinetics
Pancreatic enzymes are released from the dosage form in the alkaline environment of the small intestine because they are protected from the action of gastric juice by an enteric coating.
The maximum enzymatic activity of the drug is observed 30-45 minutes after oral administration.
Indications
Replacement therapy for exocrine pancreatic insufficiency: chronic pancreatitis, pancreatectomy, condition after irradiation, dyspepsia, cystic fibrosis; flatulence, diarrhea of non-infectious origin.
Impaired digestion of food (condition after resection of the stomach and small intestine); to improve food digestion in persons with normal gastrointestinal tract function in case of dietary errors (eating fatty foods, large amounts of food, irregular meals) and in cases of chewing dysfunction, sedentary lifestyle, prolonged immobilization. Roemheld’s syndrome (gastrocardiac syndrome).
Preparation for X-ray examination and ultrasound examination of the abdominal organs.
Pharmacological effect
Pancreatin Forte is a digestive enzyme agent that compensates for the insufficiency of the secretory function of the pancreas and the biliary function of the liver, improves food digestion, and has proteolytic, amylolytic and lipolytic effects.
The pancreatic enzymes included in the composition (lipase, alpha-amylase, trypsin, chymotrypsin) contribute to the breakdown of proteins into amino acids, fats into glycerol and fatty acids, starch into dextrins and monosaccharides.
Trypsin suppresses stimulated pancreatic secretion, producing an analgesic effect.
The enzyme hemicellulase promotes the breakdown of plant fiber, which also improves digestive processes and reduces the formation of gases in the intestines. Bile extract has a choleretic effect, promotes emulsification of fats, improves the absorption of fats and fat-soluble vitamins, and increases lipase activity.

Special instructions
In case of cystic fibrosis, the drug should be prescribed with caution because the dose must be adequate to the quantity and quality of food consumed.
Active ingredient
Pancreatin
Composition
Active ingredient:
pancreatin;
Excipients:
sodium carboxymethyl starch,
pregelatinized starch,
low molecular weight medical polyvinylpyrrolidone (povidone),
magnesium stearate,
microcrystalline cellulose
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity (including pork intolerance), acute pancreatitis, exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis.
Side Effects
Allergic reactions, rarely – diarrhea or constipation, nausea, discomfort in the epigastric region, abdominal pain, decreased endogenous synthesis of bile acids. With long-term use in high doses – hyperuricosuria, when using high doses in patients with cystic fibrosis – strictures in the ileocecal region and in the ascending colon, manifested by symptoms of intestinal obstruction.
Interaction
When used simultaneously with Pancreatin, the absorption of para-aminosalicylic acid, sulfonamides, and antibiotics is enhanced.
Reduces iron absorption (especially with long-term use). Antacids containing calcium carbonate and/or magnesium hydroxide may reduce the effectiveness of Pancreatin.
Overdose
Symptoms: With long-term use in high doses – hyperuricosuria, when using high doses in patients with cystic fibrosis – strictures in the ileocecal region and in the ascending colon. Hyperuricemia. Children have constipation.
