. The main active ingredient is a hexose glycoside consisting of glucose, rhamnose, arabinose, mannose, xylose, galactose, and uronic acids.

Panavir® is an antiviral and immunomodulatory agent. It has antiviral action against herpes simplex viruses of types 1 and 2.

It increases nonspecific resistance of the body to various infections and promotes the induction of interferon alpha and gamma by blood leukocytes.

Pharmacokinetics

Pharmacokinetics of the drug has not been studied due to its chemical nature and low active doses.

Indications

Genital herpes in women (in complex therapy).

Active ingredient

Composition

Composition (per 1 SUPOSITOR):

active ingredient – Panavir® (potato shoots polysaccharide sum) – 200 mcg

excipients: polyethylene oxide 1500 (macrogol 1500) – 1.2599 g, polyethylene oxide 400 (macrogol 400) – 0.1399 g.

The weight of the suppository is 1.4 g.

How to take, the dosage

Intravaginally. Vaginal suppositories are inserted in the evening into the vagina, as deeply as possible, in a supine position with slightly bent legs, 1 vaginal suppository every day for 5 days. Repeated course of treatment is possible after doctor’s consultation.

Effects on the ability to operate vehicles and machinery

There is no data on the possibility of adverse effects of the drug on the ability to drive vehicles and perform potentially dangerous activities requiring special attention and quick psychomotor reactions.
