Indications
Topical symptomatic treatment and analgesia in children from birth and adults for middle otitis media with intact tympanic membrane, including:
Acute exudative otitis media;
otitis media as a complication of influenza, exudative viral otitis media;
barotraumatic otitis media.

Composition
1 g of the solution contains: Active ingredients: lidocaine hydrochloride 10 mg, phenazone 40 mg; Excipients: sodium thiosulfate 1 mg, ethanol 221.8 mg, glycerol 709 mg, water 18.2 mg.
How to take, the dosage
Otipax® is used in children from birth and adults topically by injecting into the external auditory canal on the affected side 2 to 3 times a day, 4 drops. To avoid contact of the cold solution with the auricle, the bottle should be warmed in the palms before use. Duration of treatment with Otipax® is not more than 10 days, after which the prescribed treatment should be reviewed.
Interaction
There are no data on drug interactions with other medicinal products.
Special Instructions
In order to prevent complications, before starting the use of Otipax® it is recommended to consult an otorhinolaryngologist to exclude perforation of the tympanic membrane. If the symptoms of the disease worsen or there is no improvement, after 2-3 days of treatment a second consultation with the doctor is necessary. No special actions are required when using the drug for the first time or resuming treatment. There are no additional or special actions for missing one or more doses of the drug, as well as for its cancellation. Athletes should take into account that Otipax® contains the active substance, which may give a positive result in doping control. No special precautions are required when destroying unused medication.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug components;
Perforated eardrum (including those of infectious or traumatic origin)
With caution
Make sure the integrity of the tympanic membrane before starting the drug administration. If the drug is used with perforated eardrum the drug may come into contact with the middle ear organs and lead to complications.
Side effects
There is a risk of local allergic reactions, irritation and hyperemia of the ear canal. Please inform your physician of any adverse reactions not mentioned in the instructions.
Pregnancy use
If the eardrum is intact and the drug is used correctly, the likelihood of entering the systemic bloodstream is extremely low. In this regard, in the absence of contraindications, the use of the drug Otipax® by pregnant women and women during breast-feeding is possible.
