Oksolin, ointment 0.25% 10 g

Antiviral agent for external use. It has a virulicidal effect on the influenza virus in direct contact with the virus-containing material, prevents the reproduction of the virus in cells.
In dosage forms used when applied to skin (intact or scarified) ointments and mucous membranes have no resorptive toxic and local irritant action.
Pharmacokinetics
When applied to skin in the appropriate dosage form it is absorbed by about 5%, on mucous membranes – up to 20%. It does not accumulate in the body and is excreted mainly by the kidneys within a day.

Indications

For external use: treatment of warts (common, flat and acute condyloma).

For nasal use: prevention of flu, treatment of viral rhinitis.

Active ingredient

Composition

The nasal ointment is white to light yellow in color; a pink tint is allowed during storage.

Auxiliary substances: liquid paraffin – 500 mg, petroleum jelly – up to 100 g.

Side effects

In external use: possible burning sensation, dermatitis, washable blue staining.

In nasal use: possible burning sensation in the nose, rhinorrhea, washable blue staining.

Pregnancy use

The use is contraindicated in pregnancy and during breastfeeding.
