Novocainamide, tablets 250 mg 20 pcs

Novokainamide is a class 1A antiarrhythmic drug, it is a membrane stabilizing agent.

It reduces excitability and conduction of the heart muscle, inhibits impulse formation in ectopic centers, has local anesthetic effect.

Slightly reduces myocardial contractility and BP.

Indications

Active ingredient

Composition

Active substance:

procainamide 250 mg;

Ancillary substances:

Potato starch;

Milk sugar (lactose);

Calcium stearate;

How to take, the dosage

Overly, regardless of meals.

Intraventricular extrasystole: 0.25-1 g, then 0.25-0.5 g every 3-6 hours (if necessary, the daily dose may be increased to 3-4 g).

Paroxysms of atrial fibrillation: 1-1.5 g once. After 1 hour (if no effect) another 0.5 g and then every 2 hours 0.5-1 g (until paroxysm relief). The highest daily dose is 3 g.

Special Instructions

We should use with caution in myocardial infarction.

It is not recommended to prescribe in severe atherosclerosis, as well as concomitantly with drugs that undergo acetylation in the liver.

Caution should be exercised when driving a vehicle or performing work requiring increased attention and quick reaction time.

Contraindications

Acute myocardial infarction, severe heart failure, atrial-ventricular block, cardiogenic shock, severe renal failure, hypersensitivity to the drug.

Side effects

Decreased blood pressure, tachyarrhythmia, weakness, headache.
