Pharmacological properties:

Dexpanthenol is a derivative of pantothenic acid. In the body it is metabolized into pantothenic acid, which is part of coenzyme A and is involved in acetylation processes, carbohydrate and fat metabolism, the synthesis of acetylcholine, glucocorticosteroids, porphyrins, stimulates skin regeneration, normalizes cellular metabolism, accelerates mitosis and increases the strength of collagen fibers. It has a regenerating, metabolic and mild anti-inflammatory effect. An increased need for pantothenic acid is observed in skin or tissue damage, and its deficiency can be compensated by topical application of Novatenol®. Its optimal molecular weight, hydrophilicity and low polarity allow its penetration into all layers of the skin.

Pharmacokinetics: When applied topically, it is rapidly absorbed and converted to pantothenic acid and binds to plasma proteins (mainly beta globulin and albumin).

excipients: macrohol cetostearyl ether A6, macrohol cetostearyl ether A25, cetyl stearyl 2-ethylhexanoate, cetyl alcohol, dimethicone, glycerol monostearate 40-55 (type II), propylene glycol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, fragrance, purified water.

How to take, the dosage

Externally. The ointment is applied to the affected area of the skin once or several times a day as indicated. Apply a thin layer on the affected area of the skin, rubbing it gently. For breastfeeding mothers, apply the ointment to the infected nipple surface after breastfeeding. The ointment is also used in children, including newborns. For infants the drug is used after a change of underwear or water treatment.

Cautions:

The treatment of trophic ulcers and poorly healing skin grafts should be under the supervision of the attending physician. Do not apply to soaking wounds.

The drug does not affect the ability to operate vehicles and mechanisms.
