Nicotinic acid is a specific antipellar agent (vitamin PP). Improves carbohydrate metabolism, has a vasodilating effect, including on brain vessels, has hypolipidemic activity.
In large doses of 3-4 g per day nicotinic acid reduces triglycerides and low-density lipoproteins in the blood, reduces the cholesterol/phospholipids ratio in low-density lipoproteins. It has detoxifying properties.
Indications
- Pellagra prevention and treatment (PP avitaminosis)
- complex therapy of ischemic cerebral circulation disorders, obliterating vascular disease of the extremities (obliterating endarteritis, Raynaud’s disease) and kidneys, complications of diabetes (diabetic polyneuropathy, microangiopathy);
- liver disease (acute and chronic hepatitis), gastritis with reduced acidity, facial neuritis, various intoxications (occupational, drug, alcohol), wounds and ulcers that do not heal for a long time.

Associates:
Sodium bicarbonate – to pH 5-7;
water for injection – to 1 ml.
How to take, the dosage
Adults are administered parenterally (usually intravenously slowly) 1 ml 1-2 times a day.
Interaction
Potentiates the effect of fibrinolytic agents, antispasmodics and cardiac glycosides, the toxic effects of alcohol on the liver.
Contraindications
- High sensitivity to the drug;
- Gastric and duodenal ulcer (acute stage);
