Nazik, spray 0.05 mg+5 mg/dose 10 ml

Nasik is a combined nasal drug for topical use, containing Xylometazoline and Dexpanthenol.

Xylometazoline refers to a group of local vasoconstrictors (decongestants) with alpha-adrenomimetic activity, causes narrowing of blood vessels of nasal mucosa, restores nasal passages, facilitates nasal breathing. The action of the drug usually starts within a few minutes after application and lasts up to 10 hours.

Dexpanthenol is a B vitamin and a derivative of pantothenic acid. Dexpanthenol is converted in the body into pantothenic acid, which is part of coenzyme A and is involved in the processes of acetylation, carbohydrate and
Fat metabolism, synthesis of acetylcholine, corticosteroids, porphyrins; stimulates skin and mucous membrane regeneration, normalizes cell metabolism, accelerates mitosis and increases the strength of collagen fibers.

It has a regenerating, metabolic and mild anti-inflammatory effect.

PHARMACOKINETICS

Xylometazoline is virtually unabsorbed by topical administration, with plasma concentrations so low that they
cannot be determined by modern analytical methods.

Dexpanthenol when applied topically is rapidly absorbed by the skin and is converted to pantothenic acid and binds to plasma proteins (mainly beta-globulin and albumin).

The concentration in blood is 0.5-1 mg/l, in serum 100 µg/l. Pantothenic acid is not metabolized in the body (except for its inclusion in the Co-A) and excreted unchanged.

xylometazoline hydrochloride 0.05 mg,

dexpanthenol 5 mg;

Auxiliary substances:

benzalkonium chloride (as 50% solution) 0.04 mg,

potassium dihydrophosphate 0.853 mg,

sodium hydrophosphate dodecahydrate 0.027 mg,

purified water 94.03 mg.

How to take, the dosage

Intranasally. For children 2 to 6 years of age.

Take the pump dosing device out of the package. Unscrew the bottle of product, screw the dispensing device onto the neck of the bottle, and remove the protective cap.

Before using the spray for the first time, press the pump dispenser several times until an even spray pattern appears.

The bottle should be held upright when using the nasal spray. Nose should be inhaled easily during the injection. One injection into each nasal passage 3-4 times a day.

The duration of therapy is 5-7 days.

Interaction

The concomitant use of MAO inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants may result in increased blood pressure due to the effects of these drugs on the cardiovascular system.

Special Instructions

Nasal passages should be cleaned before use. Do not use for more than 7 days. The duration of drug use in children is determined after consultation with a physician.

Impact on the ability to drive and operate machinery

When using the drug, caution should be exercised when performing potentially hazardous activities requiring increased concentration and rapid psychomotor reactions.

Contraindications

With caution: diabetes mellitus, pheochromocytoma.

Side effects

In frequent and/or prolonged use – irritation and/or dry nasopharyngeal mucosa, burning, tingling, sneezing, hypersecretion, allergic reactions, nasal mucosa edema, vomiting, headache, dry rhinitis, palpitations, increased blood pressure, insomnia, visual disturbances, depression (with prolonged use of high doses).

Overdose

Symptoms: mydriasis, nausea, vomiting, cyanosis, fever, seizures, cardiac arrhythmias, cardiac arrest, hypertension, pulmonary edema, respiratory dysfunction, hallucinations. Patients may also experience CNS depressive symptoms accompanied by drowsiness, decreased body temperature, bradycardia, shock, respiratory arrest and coma.

Treatment. Administration of activated charcoal, gastric lavage, oxygen ventilation of the lungs. For reduction of blood pressure, 5 mg of phentolamine in 0.9% sodium chloride solution by slow intravenous injection or 100 mg of phentolamine orally is prescribed. Vasoconstrictors are contraindicated. If necessary, antipyretics and anticonvulsants are used.

Pregnancy use

Given that there is no data on reproductive toxicity of the drug, its use during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended.
