It has a local irritating and analgesic effect.

The irritation of sensitive skin receptors and absorption of highly active substances (histamine, enzymes, organic acids, etc.) help to dilate blood vessels, improve the trophism of the underlying tissues and determine the analgesic effect of the drug.

Indications

Arthritis of various etiologies, neuralgia, myalgia, sciatica, radiculitis, and other diseases of the musculoskeletal system, accompanied by pain.

Pharmacological effect

Pharmacological action – local irritant.
Has an analgesic (distracting) effect. Irritation of sensitive skin receptors and subsequent absorption of highly active substances (histamine, enzymes, organic acids) contribute to vasodilation, improvement of trophism of the underlying tissues, which determines the analgesic effect of the drug.

Special instructions

If any adverse reactions occur, stop using the drug and consult a doctor.

After applying the ointment, wash your hands thoroughly.

Not recommended for use in children without consulting a doctor.

Avoid getting the ointment on open wounds and mucous membranes. If the ointment gets into your eyes, rinse them with plenty of water.

Snake venom, Methyl salicylate, Camphor, Eucalyptus oil

Composition

Ointment 100 g
dry cobra venom, mouse action units (MED) – 12
methyl salicylate – 4 g
camphor – 3 g
eucalyptus oil (equivalent to 1.4 g cineole) – 2 g

excipients: petroleum jelly – 81 g; beeswax – 10 g

Pregnancy

Contraindicated during pregnancy. Breastfeeding should be stopped during treatment.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, skin diseases and mechanical damage to the skin at the sites where the ointment is applied, active pulmonary tuberculosis, febrile states, general exhaustion, severe cerebral circulatory failure, tendency to vasospasms, severe liver and kidney dysfunction, pregnancy, breastfeeding.

Side Effects

In isolated cases, allergic reactions from the skin (redness, itching, rashes) disappear after stopping the use of the drug.

Interaction

The drug causes skin hyperemia and reflexively increases blood circulation in the subcutaneous tissue, thus, combined use with other local drugs can lead to increased absorption. The use of large quantities may increase the toxicity of methotrexate and reduce the therapeutic effect of hypoglycemic agents. The drug should not be used with oral anticoagulants.

In a dry place, protected from light, at a temperature of 15–25 °C.
Keep out of the reach of children.

Shelf life

3 years.
Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
