Naphtisin Reneval, 0.1% drops 20 ml

A vasoconstrictor agent. It stimulates alpha1- and alpha2-adrenoreceptors, has antiedematous effect. The vasoconstrictor effect is manifested by local application on the nasal mucosa. In rhinitis it facilitates nasal breathing by reducing blood flow to the venous sinuses.

Pharmacokinetics

The vasoconstrictor effect occurs within a few minutes and lasts for several hours.

Indications

For acute rhinitis, allergic rhinitis, to facilitate rhinoscopy, to stop nosebleeds.

Naphazoline – 1 g
Excipients:
boric acid – 20 g
purified water – up to 1 l

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity; arterial hypertension, severe atherosclerosis, thyrotoxicosis, childhood (up to 1 year), chronic rhinitis, severe eye diseases, diabetes mellitus; simultaneous use of MAO inhibitors and a period of up to 14 days after the end of their use.

With caution:

With long-term use, the severity of the vasoconstrictor effect gradually decreases (the phenomenon of tachyphylaxis), and therefore it is recommended to take a break for several days after 5-7 days of use.

Side Effects

Nausea, tachycardia, headache, increased blood pressure, reactive hyperemia, swelling of the nasal mucosa. Irritation, when used for more than 1 week – swelling of the nasal mucosa, atrophic rhinitis.

Interaction

Should not be used simultaneously with MAO inhibitors or within 14 days after stopping their use.

Storage conditions

In a place protected from light at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
Keep out of the reach of children.
