Pharmacodynamics

Hydrophilic fibers from the shell of plantain seeds retain fluid in the GI tract, due to which the volume increases and the stool consistency softens.

The drug restores normal intestinal function, regulating its activity and facilitating the passage of intestinal contents.

Active ingredient:

Powder of Plantago ovata Forssk oval plantain seed shells;

Auxiliary substances:

sucrose – 0.4795 g;

citric acid – 0.435 g;

dextrin – 0.294 g;

sodium alginate – 0.2515 g;

sodium citrate – 0.225 g;

sodium chloride – 0.015 g;

sodium saccharinate – 0.01 g;

flavoring;

How to take, the dosage

Ingestion.

Adults and children over 12 years – 1 sachet or 1 tsp. 2-6 times a day.

Please, before drinking, pour the contents of 1 sachet or 1 tsp. into a glass, slowly fill it with cold water (150 ml), stir it and drink it immediately.

Then drink another glass of liquid.

Interaction

Do not prescribe simultaneously with anti-diarrheal drugs, as well as with drugs that inhibit intestinal motility.

A 30-60 min interval between taking Mucofolk and other drugs should be observed.

In patients with insulin-dependent diabetes it may be necessary to reduce the dose of insulin.

Special Instructions

When taking the drug, you should drink at least 1.5 liters of fluid per day.

In the first days of treatment it is possible to have increased flatulence and a feeling of overflow in the abdomen.
