Midocalm is a myorelaxant of central action.

It reduces pathologically increased muscle tone, muscle stiffness, improves voluntary active movements.

The mechanism of action is associated with the regulatory effect on the caudal part of the reticular formation, suppression of pathologically elevated spinal reflex activity, action on the peripheral nerve endings.

How to take, the dosage

In most cases, adults are prescribed 150 mg 3 times a day.

In children aged 1-6 years, Midocalm is prescribed orally in a daily dose of 5-10 mg/kg (in 3 doses during the day);

In children aged 7-14 years a daily dose of 2-4 mg/kg in 3 doses.

Interaction

There are no data on interactions limiting the use of the drug Midocalm.

While tolperizone has an effect on the CNS, it does not cause sedation, so it can be used in combination with sedatives, hypnotics and drugs containing alcohol.

It does not affect the effect of alcohol on the CNS.

Tolperisone enhances the effect of niflumic acid, with the simultaneous use of these drugs may require reducing the dose of niflumic acid.

The means for general anesthesia, peripheral myorelaxants, psychotropic drugs, clonidine – increase the effect of tolperizone.
