It is a synthetic analogue of the pineal gland hormone (epiphysis). It normalizes circadian rhythms. It regulates sleep-wake cycle, daily changes of locomotor activity and body temperature.
It helps to normalize night sleep (accelerates falling asleep, improves the quality of sleep, reduces the number of night awakenings, improves well-being upon awakening without a feeling of dullness, weariness and tiredness upon awakening; dreams become more vivid and emotionally rich).
The body adapts to rapid changes in time zones, reduces stress reactions.
It has immune-stimulating and strong antioxidant properties.
Inhibits secretion of gonadotropins and, to a lesser extent, other adenohypophysis hormones: corticotropin, thyrotropin and somatotropin.
It is not addictive or dependent.
