Seasonal and year-round allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis, pollinosis, urticaria (incl. chronic idiopathic).including chronic idiopathic), Quincke’s edema, allergic pruritic dermatoses; pseudoallergic reactions, allergic reactions to insect bites, itching of various etiologies.

Active ingredient

Composition

Active ingredient: loratadine 10 mg.

Excipients: lactose (milk sugar) – 77.5 mg, calcium stearate – 1.0 mg, potato starch – 10.0 mg, croscarmellose sodium (primellose) – 1.5 mg.

How to take, the dosage

Adults and children with body weight over 30 kg – 10 mg once daily.

In case of hepatic insufficiency the initial dose is 5 mg/day.

In children from 2 to 12 years of age with a body weight of less than 30 kg, 5 mg/day at 1 dose.

Interaction

CYP3A4 inhibitors (including ketoconazole, erythromycin), CYP3A4 and CYP2D6 inhibitors (cimetidine, etc.) increase the blood concentration of loratadine.

Special Instructions

During treatment, caution should be exercised when driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially dangerous activities that require increased concentration and rapid psychomotor reactions because of the risk of drowsiness.
Further the degree of restriction is determined individually for each patient.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the drug.

Side effects

The digestive system: rarely – dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, gastritis; in some cases – liver function disorders.

CNS disorders: rarely – fatigue, headache, excitability (in children).

Cardiovascular system disorders: rarely – tachycardia.

Allergic reactions: rare – skin rash; in single cases – anaphylactic reactions.

Dermatological reactions: in isolated cases – alopecia.

Overdose

Sleepiness, tachycardia, headache. In case of overdose, consult a physician and take measures to remove the drug from the gastrointestinal tract and reduce absorption (vomiting, gastric lavage, laxatives, activated charcoal).

Peritoneal dialysis is ineffective; hemodialysis is not recommended.
