Bifidobacteria, lactobacilli and non-toxigenic lactic acid enterococcus included in Linex support and regulate the physiological balance of intestinal microflora and ensure its physiological functions: create unfavorable conditions for the reproduction and life activity of pathogenic microorganisms; participate in the synthesis of vitamins B1, B2, PP, folic acid, vitamins K and E, ascorbic acid, provide the body with vitamins B6, B12 and biotin; by producing lactic acid and reducing the pH of intestinal contents, create favorable conditions for absorption of iron, calcium, vitamin D.

Lactic acid bacteria enzymatically break down proteins, fats and complex carbohydrates (including lactase deficiency).In case of lactase deficiency in children), carbohydrates and proteins not absorbed in the small intestine are subject to deeper cleavage in the large intestine by anaerobes (including bifidobacteria).

Bacteria contained in the preparation facilitate protein digestion in infants (bifidobacteria phosphoprotein phosphotase is involved in metabolism of milk casein), take part in bile acid metabolism.
Linex contains lactic acid bacteria resistant to antibiotics and chemotherapeutic agents.
