The remedy is of plant origin; infusion and decoction of bearberry has diuretic, antiseptic action due to strong bactericidal properties of hydroquinone, which is formed in the body during hydrolysis of arbutin and excreted in the urine.

The diuretic action is enhanced by the antispasmodic action of flavonoids, tannins have bactericidal and astringent action.

In the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the bladder and urinary tract (cystitis, urethritis).

How to take, the dosage

Inside, 30-40 minutes after a meal, in the form of decoction (from crushed leaves), depending on the severity of the condition – 45-75 ml per day (1 tablespoon 3-5 times). Course of treatment – 20-25 days, if necessary, repeat the treatment in 10-12 days (conduct no more than 4 courses per year). Before use should be shaken. The finished broth and infusion kept in a cool place for not more than 2 days.

To prepare the broth about 10 grams (1 tablespoon shredded leaves are placed in a glass or enamel bowl, pour 200 ml (1 cup) of hot boiled water, cover and heated on a boiling water bath for 30 minutes. Cooled at room temperature for 10 minutes, strain, squeeze the remaining raw material.

The volume of the resulting broth was adjusted with boiled water to 200 ml. The infusion is prepared in a similar way, but it is heated for 15 minutes and cooled (before filtration and pressing) for 45 minutes.

When using the filter-pack: 3-4 filter-pack (4.5-6 grams) was placed in a glass or enamel bowl, pour 100 ml (1/2 cup) of boiling water, cover and infuse for 30 minutes. The contents of the filter-pack squeeze. The volume of the resulting infusion bring boiled water to 100 ml.

Overdose

When taking high doses of bearberry or prolonged use, exacerbation of inflammatory kidney disease may be observed as a result of prolonged irritation of the renal tubules.
