Vomiting, nausea and caused by x-ray, radio- or chemotherapy with anticancer drugs or exposure to ionizing radiation, prevention and prevention, elimination of nausea and vomiting in the postoperative period; symptomatic treatment of alcohol withdrawal syndrome (especially of medium and mild severity).

Indications

Pharmacological effect

Latran – anti-withdrawal, antiemetic.

Special instructions

Patients with signs of intestinal obstruction after using the drug require regular monitoring, because ondansetron may cause constipation.

Composition

1 ml of solution contains:

Active substance:

ondansetron hydrochloride dihydrate (based on base) 2 mg;

Excipients:

sodium chloride;

hydrochloric acid;

water for injections.

Pregnancy

Contraindicated.

Contraindications

children under 2 years of age (safety and effectiveness of use in Russia have not been studied);

Side Effects

From the cardiovascular system: chest pain, in some cases with ST segment depression, bradycardia, arrhythmias, arterial hypotension.

Interaction

Since ondansetron is metabolized by the liver enzyme system (cytochrome P450), caution is required when used together:
with inhibitors of P450 enzymes (CYP2D6 and CYP3A) (macrolide antibiotics, allopurinol, antidepressants – MAO inhibitors, estrogen-containing oral contraceptives, diltiazem, chloramphenicol, cimetidine, disulfiram, erythromycin, fluconazole, fluoroquinolones, isoniazid, ketoconazole, lovastatin, valproic acid, sodium valproate, propranolol, metronidazole, omeprazole, verapamil, quinidine, quinine);
with P450 enzymatic inducers (CYP2D6 and CYP3A) (barbiturates, glutethimide, griseofulvin, carbamazepine oxide, carisoprodol, nitrogen, papaverine, phenylbutazone, phenytoin and probably others rifampicin, hydantoins, tolbutamide).

Overdose

A specific antidote is not known, but in cases of suspected overdose, symptomatic therapy is indicated.
