Inocaine, eye drops 0.4% 5 ml

Local anesthesia in ophthalmology:

• diagnostic conjunctival scraping;
• extraction of foreign bodies and sutures from the cornea and conjunctiva;
• gonioscopy;
• short-term surgical procedures on the cornea and conjunctiva.

Active ingredient

Composition

1 ml – oxybuprocaine hydrochloride 4 mg.

Auxiliary substances:

benzalkonium chloride,

boric acid,

dinatrium edetate,

sodium chloride,

d/i water.

How to take, the dosage

Topically, 1 drop is put into the conjunctival sac.

Long-term anesthesia (up to 1 hour) provides three drops of Inocaine at intervals of 4-5 minutes.

Interaction

No positive or negative effects of concomitant administration of oxybuprocaine and other traditionally used eye drops to the conjunctival sac have been described.

It has been noted that oxybuprocaine can theoretically reduce the antibacterial activity of sulfonamides.

Special Instructions

Use only for instillation into the conjunctival sac. It should not be used for injections.

Continuous, repeated and prolonged use (as with other local anesthetics) may cause persistent corneal opacity.

It is not intended for long-term therapy in the complex treatment of eye disease.

During anesthesia, the eye must be protected from irritating chemical influences, foreign bodies and friction.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Side effects

Pregnancy use

There is insufficient clinical research on the use of the drug in pregnancy and lactation.

The use of Inocaine during pregnancy and lactation is possible only in cases when the expected benefit of therapy exceeds the potential risk to the fetus or the infant.
