Indications

Treatment and prevention of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx:

– pharyngitis;

– chronic tonsillitis;

– preoperative preparation and postoperative period after tonsillectomy;

– superficial and deep periodontal disease, periodontitis, stomatitis (including aphthous), glossitis;

– erythematous and ulcerative gingivitis;

– dysbacteriosis of the oral cavity;

– infections after tooth extraction, implantation of artificial dental roots;

– ulcerations caused by dentures.

Pharmacological effect

Pharmacological action – immunostimulating.
Pharmacological (immunobiological) properties
Immunostimulating drug of bacterial origin for local use in otorhinolaryngology and dentistry. Activates phagocytosis, helps increase the number of immunocompetent cells, increases the production of lysozyme and interferon, immunoglobulin A in saliva.

Special instructions

Children from 3 to 6 years old dissolve tablets under the mandatory supervision of adults.

You should not eat or drink water, or rinse your mouth for an hour after using Imudon®, so as not to reduce the therapeutic effectiveness of the drug.

When prescribing the drug to patients on a salt-free or low-salt diet, it is necessary to take into account that 1 table. Imudon® contains 15 mg Na+.

For patients with bronchial asthma in whom taking medications containing bacterial lysates causes an exacerbation of the disease (an attack of bronchial asthma), the use of the drug is not recommended.

Influence on the ability to drive a car and other mechanisms. There is no data indicating the need for any restrictions on activities related to driving a car or other machinery during the treatment period.

Active ingredient:
Imudon® (mixture of bacterial lysates) – 2.7 mg (calculated on dry matter) [L. johnsonii + L. helveticus + L. delbrueckii ss lactis + L. fermentum + S. pyogenes groupe A + E. faecium + E. faecalis + S. gordonii + S. aureus + K. pneumoniae ss pneumoniae + C. pseudodiphtheriticum + F. nucleatum ss fusiforme + C. albicans] – 0.1575 mg

Excipients:
Sodium deoxycholate – 0.53 mg, thiomersal – no more than 0.0125 mg, glycine – 49.3 mg, lactose monohydrate – 350 mg, mannitol – 100 mg, sodium saccharinate – 1.12 mg, povidone – 10.0 mg, sodium bicarbonate – 30.0 mg, anhydrous citric acid – 23.0 mg, mint flavor – 8.0 mg, magnesium stearate – 4.88 mg.

Pregnancy

There is insufficient information on the use of Imudon® in pregnant women. Relevant data from animal experiments and epidemiological studies are not available.
It is not recommended to take Imudon® during pregnancy or lactation.

Side Effects

In rare cases, the use of the drug may be accompanied by allergic reactions (rash, urticaria, angioedema), gastrointestinal reactions (nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain), fever, exacerbation of bronchial asthma, cough.

In very rare cases, the use of the drug may be accompanied by the development of erythema nodosum, hemorrhagic vasculitis, thrombocytopenia.

Interaction

Not noted. Imudon® can be used with drugs from other groups.

Overdose

Cases of overdose of Imudon® have not been described.
