Hypromelose-P, eye drops 5 mg/ml, 10 ml

Hypromellose-P is a remedy for local use in ophthalmology. Hypromellose is a protector of the corneal epithelium, has a lubricating and softening effect, has a high viscosity, which increases the duration of contact of the solution with the cornea.

The index of refraction of the solution is similar to natural tears. Helps to restore, stabilize and reproduce the optical characteristics of the tear film.

Pharmacodynamics

It has a protective effect on the cornea when tear fluid secretion is reduced, increases the duration of action of eye drops and protects the cornea from their irritant effects.

Indications

Insufficient lacrimation, lagophthalmos, deformation of the eyelids, conditions after plastic surgery on the eyelids, conditions after thermal and chemical burns of the cornea and conjunctiva, after removal of foreign bodies and toxic substances from the eye;
“dry” keratoconjunctivitis (Sjögren’s syndrome and disease);
eye irritations caused by smoke, dust, cold, wind, sun, salt water, allergies, and when using contact lenses.
For disinfection of tear fluid.

Special instructions

Do not exceed therapeutic doses, do not use for a long time.

Use only during breaks between wearing contact lenses.

It is not recommended to use drops in the acute stage of a chemical burn of the cornea and conjunctiva until the toxic substance is completely removed.

Composition

Active ingredient:

hypromellose (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) 5 mg;

Excipients:

sodium chloride,

disodium edetate dihydrate,

benzalkonium,

dexpanthenol,

chloride,

purified water up to 10 ml.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to hypromellose.

Side Effects

In some cases: local allergic reactions, possibly an unpleasant feeling of eyelids sticking together (due to the high viscosity of the solution).

Interaction

Do not use simultaneously with eye drops containing heavy metal salts.

Storage conditions

The drug should be stored out of the reach of children at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.

Shelf life

2 years. After opening – 1 month.
