Hyoxysone, ointment, 10 g

Hyoxysone is anti-inflammatory local, antibacterial. Inhibits the development of inflammatory reactions of the skin, especially of allergic origin, complicated by bacterial infection, as a result of the combined action of the components that make up the drug.

Oxytetracycline is an antibiotic from the group of tetracyclines with bacteriostatic action.

It is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, Rickettsia spp., Treponema spp., Mycoplasma spp.

Hydrocortisone – GCS, has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-exudative and antipruritic effects. Inhibits phagocytosis; reduces synthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes by inhibiting phospholipase A2 activity and reducing release of arachidonic acid from phospholipids of cell membranes.

Inhibits the release of interleukins and other cytokines that cause inflammation; inhibits the release of histamine and the occurrence of local allergic reactions.

Decreases protein synthesis and collagen deposition in the skin, inhibits connective tissue development and weakens proliferative processes.

1 g ointment contains:

Active substances:

oxytetracycline hydrochloride – 25,800 IU;

hydrocortisone acetate – 10 mg.

Auxiliary substances:

methyl parahydroxybenzoate – 0.2 mg,

liquid paraffin – 48 mg,

Vaseline up to 1 g.

How to take, the dosage

Topically, externally.

The ointment in an amount of 0.5-1 g is applied in a thin layer to the affected skin areas 1-3 times a day or under a sterile gauze bandage. The duration of treatment is individual.

Special Instructions

Vaccination should not be performed during treatment with glucocorticosteroids due to the immunosuppressive effect of glucocorticosteroids.

If it is necessary to use the drug on the skin of the face, treatment should be short, due to increased absorption and the possibility of side effects.

Contraindications

Side effects

Rarely, allergic reactions, skin irritation, itching, rash are possible.

In case of long-term use and/or application to large surfaces – systemic side effects of GCS.

In case of use on the skin of the face, telangiectasia, atrophy of the subcutaneous tissue in the mouth area is possible.
