Description

The medical product “HILOMAX-COMOD® ophthalmic humidifying solution” is a sterile isotonic 0.2% aqueous solution of sodium hyaluronate without preservatives in the original container (KOMOD® system).

The HILOMAX-COMOD® solution contains hyaluronic acid (in the form of a sodium salt) which is a natural substance. Sodium hyaluronate is a physiological polysaccharide compound found both in the tissues of the eye and in other tissues and body fluids of the human body.

A special physical and chemical property of sodium hyaluronate molecules is their strong ability to bind water molecules. Aqueous solution of sodium hyaluronate has the necessary viscosity and high adhesive properties with respect to the anterior surface of the eye, due to which HILOMAX-COMOD® solution forms on the cornea surface a uniform, long-lasting tear film which is not washed off when winking and does not reduce visual acuity. This protects the eye for long periods against feelings of dryness and irritation that often occur with environmental contact as well as when wearing contact lenses.

HILOMAX-COMOD® solution contains a significant concentration of sodium hyaluronate and therefore offers high viscosity. Prolonged and intense discomfort disappears and results in permanent eye protection from irritation.

At the same time, consistent and sufficient hydration of the eye surface promotes the normal physiological course and accelerated healing of eye injuries and wounds after trauma and surgery.

HILOMAX-COMOD® Solution makes wearing any hard or soft contact lens more comfortable and HILOMAX-COMOD® Solution does not deposit on the surface of the lens.

HILOMAX-COMOD® solution is housed in the ingenious COMOD® container, which features an ingenious system of reservoirs and valves that ensure no external air penetration and assures consistent droplet size regardless of the amount of force applied.

The metal parts and valves of the container which are in contact with the HILOMAX COMOD® solution are partially coated with a thin layer of silver which, together with the absolute air-tightness of the system, ensures that the HILOMAX COMOD® solution is sterile in the absence of preservatives.

This prevents any possible undesired effects of the preservatives on the eye tissue and ensures good tolerance of the HILOMAX-COMOD® solution even with prolonged use.

Limonic acid anhydrous, sodium citrate dihydrate, sorbitol, water.

How to take, the dosage
How to take, the dosage
Hilomax-ComodÂ® Solution should be instilled into the conjunctival sac of each eye 3 times daily at 1 drop. If necessary HILOMAX-COMODÂ® solution can be applied more frequently.
The frequency of HILOMAX-COMODÂ® solution application should be determined individually depending on your sensations and according to the recommendations of your ophthalmologist or contact lens specialist. If you use HILOMAX COMODÂ® solution very frequently (e.g. more than 10 times per day) please consult your ophthalmologist. If you continue to have symptoms or discomfort for several days after using HILOMAX COMODÂ® Solution, please also consult an ophthalmologist.
The COMODÂ® System contains and dispenses 10 ml of HILOMAX-COMODÂ® Solution which is about 300 drops of solution.
After using the entire contents a new container filled with HILOMAX-COMODÂ® Solution has to be purchased as the system is not designed to be reused.
There is no limit to the duration of use of HILOMAX-COMPODÂ®.
How to use and recommendations for contact lens wear
The cap must be removed before each application.
Please turn the container upside down and press the base of the container repeatedly until the first drop appears at the tip of the dropper before using HILOMAX COMODÂ® solution for the first time. The system is then ready to use.
When pumping HILOMAX-COMODÂ® solution, hold the container with the drip tip facing down quickly and firmly pressing on the base. This activates the drip mechanism and only one drop of solution is ejected. Because of the special design of the valves in the KOMODÂ® system the droplet size and ejection rate remain consistent even when applying very high pressure on the base of the container.
Tuck your head back slightly, gently twist the lower lid with your finger and drip one drop into the conjunctival sac as described above. Slowly close your eyes, letting the fluid spread evenly over the surface of your eye.
When finished, replace the drip cap with a seal.
Please avoid contact of the drip tip with the eye surface and skin during the drip.
When wearing soft and rigid contact lenses, HILOMAX COMODÂ® solution can be injected into the conjunctival sac without removing the lenses.
The COMODÂ® System is intended for individual use only.

Shelf life
The shelf life is 3 years. In the sealed original container: 3 years. HILOMAX-COMOD® must be used within 12 weeks after the vial has been opened. Mark the date on the bottle when you first injected HILOMAX-COMOD® solution. The label on the bottle has a space for the patient to fill out: "Date of first use." Do not use after the expiration date printed on the package.
