The drug Grippferon with loratadine is based on recombinant human interferon alpha-2b and a second generation antihistamine substance – loratadine.

It is well known that patients with allergic diseases, particularly allergic rhinitis, have an increased susceptibility to respiratory viral infections.

Inflammatory changes in the respiratory mucosa of patients with allergic rhinitis contribute to the decrease of antiviral and antimicrobial protection and suppression of local immunity. This creates a favorable environment for reproduction of respiratory viruses.

The connection between respiratory infection and exacerbation of allergies has been proved by numerous clinical observations and laboratory studies.

Indications

Grippferon with loratadine is available as a nasal ointment and is intended for the prevention and treatment of influenza and ARVI as part of complex therapy in adults, including patients with allergic rhinitis.

1 g ointment contains:

active substances:

interferon alpha-2b human recombinant not less than 10,000 IU,

loratadine 2 mg,

excipients:

boric acid 1 mg,

sodium tetraborate decahydrate 1 mg,

glycerol 90 mg,

disodium edetate dihydrate 1 mg,

hypromellose 2.5 mg,

macrogol 4000 – 200 mg,

macrogol 400 – 600 mg,

purified water up to 1 g.

Contraindications

hypersensitivity to interferon alfa-2b, loratadine or other components of the drug;
children under 18 years of age (due to the lack of data on the effectiveness and safety of the drug in children);
pregnancy, breastfeeding period.

Side Effects

Possible sneezing, itching at the application site, temporary loss of smell.

Storage conditions

The drug is stored at a temperature of 2º to 8º out of the reach of children.
