Pharmacodynamics

Glycine is an essential amino acid, a central inhibitory neurotransmitter: improves metabolic processes in brain tissues; has antidepressant and sedative effects; has glycinergic and GABA-ergic, alpha1-adrenoblocking, antioxidant and antitoxic effects; regulates the activity of glutamate (NMDA) receptors, due to which it reduces psychoemotional tension, aggressiveness and conflict; it improves social adaptation and mood; facilitates falling asleep and normalizes sleep; increases mental performance; reduces the severity of vegetative-vascular disorders (including in menopause) and cerebral disorders in ischemic stroke and craniocerebral trauma; reduces the toxic effects of ethanol on the central nervous system.

Pharmacokinetics

Easy penetration into most body fluids and tissues, including the brain, does not cumulate. It is rapidly degraded in the liver by glycinoxidase to water and carbon dioxide.

Indications

In narcology glycine is used as a drug that increases mental performance and reduces psycho-emotional tension in remission in cases of encephalopathy and organic lesions of the central and peripheral nervous system.

Active ingredient:

Glycine – 100 mg

Excipients:

Methylcellulose – 1 mg

Magnesium stearate – 1 mg

How to take, the dosage

Sublingually (under the tongue) or transbuccally (in the cheek) 100 mg (in tablet form or as powder after crushing the tablet).

Children over 3 years and adults are prescribed 1 tablet 2-3 times a day, for 7-14 days. The course of treatment can be increased up to 30 days, if necessary the course is repeated after 30 days.

If necessary, courses are repeated 4-6 times a year.

Interaction

Special Instructions

In patients with a tendency to arterial hypotension, the prescription is made in smaller doses and with blood pressure control. If the blood pressure decreases below the usual level, glycine should be discontinued.

Impact on driving, operating machinery

When taking the drug, caution should be exercised while driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially dangerous activities requiring increased concentration and quick psychomotor reactions.
