Glycerin is a laxative for local use.

Glycerin has a mild irritant effect on the rectal mucosa and reflexively stimulates peristalsis.

Promotes softening of stools.

In external application Glycerin has a dermatoprotective effect, softens the skin and mucous membranes.

Indications

Constipation of various origins (including habitual, age-related, with limited mobility); dry skin and mucous membranes (for external use).

Helps soften stool.

Special instructions

Continuous intake of Glycerin is not recommended. When used as a laxative, treatment is stopped after restoration of normal intestinal motility.

Contraindications

Hemorrhoids in the acute phase, anal fissures, inflammatory diseases and tumors of the rectum; hypersensitivity to glycerol.

Side Effects

With prolonged external use of Glycerin: irritation, allergic reactions.

Interaction

With systemic use of carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, it potentiates the effects of diuretics.

Overdose

With systemic use, symptoms: arrhythmia, renal failure, headache, dizziness, confusion, dry mouth or increased thirst, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, severe dehydration.

Storage conditions

The drug should be stored out of the reach of children at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.
