Glycerin, 25 g

Laxative for local use. It has a mild irritant effect on the mucous membrane of the rectum and reflexively stimulates peristalsis. It promotes the softening of stool.

When used topically it has dermatoprotective effect, softens the skin and mucous membranes.

Indications

Constipation of different genesis (including habitual, age-related, with limited mobility).

Dry skin and mucous membranes (for external use).

The route of administration and dosing regimen of a particular drug depend on its formulation and other factors. The optimal dosing regimen is determined by the doctor. Rectally – once a day, preferably 15-20 minutes after breakfast.

Outwardly – to dab the affected areas as needed.

Special Instructions

Systematic administration is not recommended. When used as a laxative, treatment should be discontinued when normal bowel peristalsis is restored.

Hemorrhoids in the acute phase, anal fissures, inflammatory diseases and tumors of the rectum; hypersensitivity to glycerol.

Side effects

In long-term external use: irritation, allergic reactions.

In long-term rectal use: irritation of the rectum, weakening of the physiological process of defecation.
