Glucosamine, 1500 mg 20 pcs

Remedy affecting the metabolism in the cartilage tissue. It replenishes the natural deficit of glucosamine, stimulates the synthesis of proteoglycans and hyaluronic acid synovial fluid; increases the permeability of the joint capsule, restores enzymatic processes in the cells of the synovial membrane and articular cartilage.

It promotes sulfur fixation in the synthesis of chondroitinous acid, facilitates normal calcium deposition in bone tissue, inhibits the development of degenerative processes in joints, restores their function and reduces pain.

Pharmacokinetics

Bioavailability of glucosamine during oral administration is 25% due to the effect of “first passage” through the liver. Highest concentrations of glucosamine are found in liver, kidney and joint cartilage. It is excreted mainly with urine unchanged, partially with feces. T1/2 is 68 h.

Indications

Primary and secondary osteoarthritis, scapular periarthritis, osteochondrosis, spondylosis, chondromalacia of the patella.

Composition

1 sachet (4 g).
glucosamine sulfate sodium chloride 1.884 g, which corresponds to the content of glucosamine sulfate 1.5 g.
Excipients:
sorbitol – 2081 mg,
citric acid monohydrate – 25 mg,
macrogol 4000 – 10 mg.

Interaction

When used in combination, glucosamine increases absorption from the gastrointestinal tract of tetracyclines and decreases absorption of penicillins and chloramphenicol.

Directions for use

It is taken orally 1.5 g once a day. The duration of treatment is usually 6 weeks, if necessary – longer. Treatment courses are usually repeated at 2 month intervals.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to glucosamine, phenylketonuria (if the drug contains aspartame), pregnancy, lactation.

Side effects

Possible: epigastric pain, nausea, flatulence, diarrhea, constipation, allergic reactions.

Pregnancy use

Glucosamine is contraindicated for use during pregnancy and lactation (breast-feeding).
